The size question in furniture

"Will it fit?" is the question a photograph cannot answer. A model scaled to your real dimensions lets shoppers check the size in their own room before they buy.

What shoppers cannot see today

  • A piece that is 15cm too wide for the alcove is a problem for everyone.
  • Photographs flatten depth, so shoppers cannot judge how far a chair projects into a room.
  • Fabric and finish look different on every screen; shape and scale do not.
  • Showroom visits are the fallback, and you lose the sale to whoever has one nearby.

Capturing furniture well

  • Matte, textured, opaque pieces you can walk around are the easiest for photo-based 3D.
  • Glass table tops and high-gloss lacquer are the hard cases; send us a CAD model if you have one.
  • Thin metal legs need extra close-up angles or they thin out in the model.

We tell you which of your products will not reconstruct well before you spend a credit on them. Full capture guide.

Furniture is a good fit for 3D. The purchase is expensive, a return is costly for everyone involved, and scale is the one thing a photograph cannot communicate.
